The culture of Bada indigenous people is holistic, interconnected and inseparable wherein family and community involvement is a vital part of a functional society and plays an important role in underpinning and maintaining cultural, language and kinship systems for Bada communities.

In Bada indigenous community, the Elders, the Grandmothers and the Grandfathers  play a fundamental role in situating people’s place within the world, and instilling a sense of self and community through active engagement with their culture.

The Grandmothers and the Grandfathers of Bada have lives through many changes in their communities, and they are often considered an important link to the teachings of the past. They play a primary role to pass on and carry forward the ancient wisdom, the tradition, rituals, languages and cultural values of their community.

Development and modernization from outside of Bada has influenced and sometimes disrupted the transmission of culture from older generations to younger people in Bada.
